Fancymetal offers high purity (customizable) metal products, as well as oxides, sputtering targets, foils, plates, wires, tubes, rods, powders.
Rhenium metal is silver-white metal or gray-black powder, melting point 3180 ℃, boiling point is 5627 ℃, relative density 20.53. rhenium metal is very hard, wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant.
Rhenium is stable at room temperature and starts to be oxidized at 300°C.
High purity rhenium can be produced by thermal decomposition of rhenium trichloride.
Applications:
✔ Rhenium is one of the most refractory metals, with a melting point of up to 3180°C. It has a high mechanical strength and has good mechanical properties. It has high mechanical strength, good plasticity, excellent mechanical stability
✔ In high temperature and rapid cooling and heating conditions have good creep resistance, suitable for ultra-high temperature and strong thermal shock working environment
✔ rhenium is widely used in aerospace special alloys, the use of rhenium production of high-performance single-crystal high-temperature alloys, which will be used in the blades of aircraft engines
✔ Rhenium in the aero-engine industry has reached more than 80% of the total rhenium consumption
✔ The addition of rhenium will enhance the creep strength of nickel high temperature alloys
✔ Rhenium can enhance the physical properties of tungsten
✔ Rhenium is very stable at high temperatures, low vapor pressure, wear resistance, and can resist arc corrosion, so it is a good material for self-cleaning electrical contacts
Chemical properties:
The chemical properties of rhenium depend on the aggregation state of rhenium, powdered rhenium is more active. Rhenium is insoluble in hydrochloric acid, but can be dissolved in nitric acid and hot concentrated sulfuric acid, resulting in perrhenic acid; rhenium reacts with sulfur vapor at high temperature to synthesize rhenium disulfide; can react with fluorine, chlorine, bromine to generate halides, all easily hydrolyzed.
Advantages:
✔ Strict quality control of raw materials, process control and pre-delivery processes.
✔ Strong technical capability makes it a reliable long-term supplier.
✔ Technical support: 24 hours technical support by email or phone
History:
In 1925, German chemists (Ida Tacke), (Walter Nodack) and (Otto Carl Berg) according to the periodic table of elements, the 75th element should be located in the Periodic Table in the VII B group, and speculated on the chemical reactions it can carry out. (Ida Tacke, Walter Nodack and Otto Carl Berg named the element rhenium after the Latin name for the river Rhenus.
In 1928, German chemists Ida Tacke, Walter Nodack and Otto Carl Berg discovered rhenium in platinum ores.
