Preparation Methods:

Dirhenium heptaoxide can be purified by vacuum sublimation to large yellow angular crystals.


Application:

1. Catalyst for the conversion of sulphur dioxide to sulphur trioxide and nitrous acid to nitric acid.

2. Rhenium heptaoxide can be used in the synthesis of methyl rhenium trioxide (‘MTO’), a new and highly efficient catalyst.
