Lutetium oxide, also known as lutetium earth (lutecia), is one of many rare earth oxides. It has the properties of a white powder, insoluble in water and soluble in inorganic acids.

Applications:

1. Lutetium oxide is an important raw material for laser crystals. It is often used in ceramics, glass, phosphors and lasers. Lutetium oxide is used as a catalyst in catalytic cracking, alkylation, hydrogenation and polymerization. It is also used in the manufacture of special alloys.

2. It is used in neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnet materials, chemical additives, electronics industry, and scientific research.
